This is an amazing and magical weekend for us and our 2 yr old. It was brilliant watching her get up close and excited with all the animals. She especially loved the chickens and giant rabbits, the playhouse was a hit and in all it was one of the best family holidays we’ve had we will be back.
L, I and I. M (family staying with U.K. people above)
Everybody enjoyed the cosy house. Just too bad we couldn’t get 2 cottages for our dates and 2 of us had to stay at YHA. The rooms are so pretty and comfortable. The children enjoyed picking the eggs early in the morning, and grandma and grandpa joined in later. We all loved the animals. Bundanoon is just a quiet cosy place to stay. Hope to come back from Malaysia in the near future. Thank you.

D, L, E, L April 2016 (Braedon Cottage)
We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Braedon Cottage. It was very cosy warming up to the fireplace, toasting marshmallows and playing games together. We loved guessing the number of eggs we’d collect each morning for breakfast. We had great fun feeding the farm animals together. We look forward to returning again for another family gathering when our baby is old enough to walk and our parents and grandma visits again from Singapore.

Attending a wedding in Penrose we found this hidden treasure for a long weekend get away with our 4 year old and 1 year old. We had a ball! We arrived stressed and exhausted and after just 3 days left (reluctantly) refreshed and wishing we could move to the country!
This is a weekend getaway with kids at its best. Toys are provided, plenty of warm bedding, high chairs, port-a-cots and even gum boots for little ones and adults.
Our kids loved feeding the animals, collecting eggs each morning for breakfast and waking up to the cockerel.
We intend this to become a regular weekend getaway!
L M April 2016 (Alecia Cottage)
We just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful time we had at Braedon Cottage. I must say it was nice to meet Braedon himself, he was very sweet and my boys thought he was very cool with all his motorised vehicles! We had a really wonderful stay; we loved the animals, the walks, the house, the glow worms and the relaxing! We will definitely be back and are telling all our friends.
G C Easter 2016 (Braedon Cottage)
Wet and wintery weather during our stay, but really enjoyed our holiday anyway playing games and doing jigsaws in front of the fire. I had time to read a book from start to finish for the 1st time in ages. Quality time doesn’t get better than this week.
S Stirling March 2016 (Alecia Cottage)
Returning to Bundanoon was the highlight of our trip ‘down under to Oz’.
Again we chose Morvern but this time Alecia Cottage. Our girls loved the animals.
Impeccably clean, all amenities fresh and new. Great night’s sleep all week.
We enjoyed the well set-up holiday kitchen – cooked on the Kookaburra Stove – felt like being ‘in the good ole colonial days’ staying here.
Going to try Braden cottage next time!

The F Family Jan 2016 (Braedon Cottage)
Our stay at Alicia Cottage was a fantatstic and fun experience. Kids were so happy at there and enjoyed the atmosphere. Location, Cottage, Farm animals and the peaceful environment all contributed a lot in making our holidays the best holidays after a long team. We tried to extend our stay there but unfotunately the cottage was already booked BUT we’ll back there again to unforgetable experience.
Faisal Family January 2016 (Alecia Cottage)
Christmas at Morvern Valley was great, normally we head to the coast with my brothers family but this year we all decided to try something new. Thank you for the tree and decorations. A Christmas to remember for many a year. A very special different accommodation experience. Animals were great – the chickens laid us many dozens of eggs, haven’t eaten such fresh eggs ever before with the rich orange yolks the scrambled eggs were so bright. Thank you again.
J, E, E, D, O & Johnston’s December 2016 (Original & Braedon Cottages)
Fantastic Country Cottage escape with all the trimmings. Comfortable and inviting, oozing charm. fireplaces, beautiful gardens, farm animals, veranda, bbq, full amenities, and timeless decor…basically everything you could possibly need to make you feel at home! We immediately felt relaxed. Brilliant for kids, with all the things they would otherwise not experience in the city, but equally perfect for romantic getaway…Collecting fresh eggs were a favourite. The surrounding district was also beautiful… a world away and a step back in time.
We had such a great weekend. Would be ideal for Christmas in July.
Thank you, we will definitely be visiting again!
R R October 2016 (Original Homestead)
We travelled to Bundanoon for a family wedding and were lucky enough to find Morvern Valley to accommodate myself, my hubby, our 2 year old daughter and some of my hubby’s family. We stayed in the original homestead – there were 9 of us.
I love travelling out of the city for a weekend but we were blown away by this beautiful place and all the farm animals.
Our 2 year old had a ball collecting fresh eggs from the chickens each morning for breakfast and feeding all the farm animals.
Julie and Jason who run Morvern Valley could not have been more helpful and friendly. We missed the bus to the wedding – they chased up someone to take us all to the venue. We left things behind – they posted them back to us. Nothing was too hard for them. Such lovely friendly people that you feel like you have known for years.
Fantastic weekend away, wonderful location, beautiful homestead and friendly country hospitality. What more could you ask for.
J K October 2016 (Original Homestead)
Wow! What an awesome break away – our first holiday in 2.5 years and we all had a ball. Our 3 children enjoyed every minute and as we celebrated our wedding anniversary, we couldn’t have thought of a better place to be. The cottage and the property is incredible. Well done.
The R family Oct 2016 (Braedon Cottage)
We have had an enjoyable stay. It was a bit unfortunate that it rained all weekend, although despite the rain we still had fun.
C L Oct 2016 (Braedon Cottage)
We had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Our children loved feeding the animals, collecting eggs, swinging on the tyres and visiting fairy land. They loved it so much that they don’t want to go home and neither do we.
The R Family Oct 2016 (Braedon Cottage)
We had a fantastic time!!! As I write my 5 yr old is crying and refusing to get in the car!!! I will have to bribe him with a milkshake in Exeter (lovely coffee and scones at the Exeter General Store). The egg laying was prolific and the animals have had enough carrots to last them a lifetime. The kids were thoroughly entertained on the far, and my hubby and I enjoyed taking them to all the beautiful townships nearby. We also enjoyed many walks in the National Park and the Glow Worm Glen is a definite must – truly special. Many thinks for a memorable family break we will definitely be back.
M G W H – The J Family Oct 2016 (Braedon Cottage)
Our family loved the eggs, we rewarded the chooks with our scraps each day and they laid us many eggs in return. Sunny and Cookie the donkeys were our favourites so cute how they walk around together and curl their necks around each other cuddling.
We will be back soon for sure.
S Drummond Sept 2016 (Alecia Cottage)
Great holiday with a lot more on offer than just a place to stay – liked fairyland down near the creek, the tyre swings and brushing little Fudge. Visited Glow Worm Glen. Collecting those eggs was very memorable part of our break. Will be telling our friends about this place and ‘we will be back’.

We booked all three cottages for a family get together for my wife’s 60th birthday – everyone enjoyed it from the babies to the grandmothers. The dinner was excellent at The Thistle Carvery in the village. Animals were a real hit and we fed them carrots and apples all weekend. Thank you for taking us to see the kangaroos in the wild. Glow Worm excursion at night highly recommend to all.
Connor’s, Keenan’s & Lasseter’s September 2015 (Original, Alecia and Braedon cottages)
We all loved the choc-chip cookies. The animals were all friendly, but we liked Cookie and Sunny best. We had fun on the tyre swings and gathering kindling near the river. We fed the donkeys carrots and the chickens loved the left over apple pieces, and Chinese (especially the deep feed squid). The chickens laid eleven fresh eggs and we had wonderful hot breakfasts every morning. The fire was great. We toasted marshmallows and bread. The electric blankets kept us warm at night. We hired bikes and rode around the National Park. It was great fun. From Finn

We’ve all had the most tremendous holiday. S loved feeding the animals – especially when the less pushy ones like gentle Lightning Jack got something. E loved the cottage and its many toys “ I just wanna stay in the cottage” and we’ve loved this life so separate from the city – a beautiful stroll to friendly shops, the bushwalking (we all did Lovers walk and Mt Carnarvon and I found the Tooths lookout and Fairy Bower circuit thrilling, the peace of the balcony and the paddocks, the fresh eggs ( S’s favourite task was feed the chooks and to collect the eggs), the many thoughtful details and decoration of the cottage, the tyre swings. We’ve all calmed down and come together as a family so we will be back! Thank You.
E S E I Sept 2015 (Braedon Cottage)
Thank you for a wonderful week. The house was cosy and welcoming – obviously put together with love. The children loved spending time with the animals and the hens in particular. They have been well fed! A pity the weather couldn’t have been more welcoming but the generous fire kept us all very toasty. Loved the shower and the comfy beds. Thanks again

We had a fabulous time! The kids loved the house and the animals! Much time was enjoyed at the swings and the old car, exploring fairyland down by the creek, crossing bridges and collecting firewood. We had a wonderful tea party by the open fireplace in Alanna’s room and lovely times in the comfy chairs on the veranda. Riley took so many photos of the house because ‘he never wants to forget this place’ they were so busy they didn’t sit in front of the TV once. Thank you and hope to come back!!

As before we have really enjoyed our stay. We fed the animals and also were v very generous to the chooks. They have repaid us with a bountiful supply of eggs. One day we collected 10 eggs, no day less than 4. We feel very comfortable here and find the whole atmosphere so relaxing. Thank you for looking after Sienna – her hutch was just the thing.
J, H. August 2014
Thank you for allowing us to fall in love with the countryside. The Southern Highlands is stunning and this place was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay immensely and the kids didn’t leave the chooks. They got a big serving of food on our last day and we loved them, the horses, alpacas, the lambs, sheep and the pony. Couldn’t have asked for any better except for a longer stay. Thanks and god bless you.

The decorations were fantastic so many things to let you know what life used to be like. The kids loved the animals and the chance to explore the farm. Thanks for a great experience. Great for bringing the family together. The 3 separate houses gave us the much needed space from the extended family when required. Oct 2010.
Wright Family Oct 2014
We have had such a relaxing wonderful stay here. From the beautiful, country cosy atmosphere where all the details add to that special touch to the welcoming farm animals always eager for a feed or a pat. The chooks repaid our offering of food scraps with a plentiful supply of lovely eggs. We will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends – thank you so much!
The H Family Nov 2014
Thanks for a lovely stay we truly enjoyed it. It was about time hubby and I sat in front of a log fire at night – after 3 years of marriage. It was about time our toddler learned that fire can be bad and also good. And golly how good it was….this cosy fire, during our rather wet and rainy stay. We also enjoyed the animals, eggs, fresh local bacon, and fresh lemons (we hope you didn’t mind that we picked some), the quiet and historic atmosphere of the house. Thanks again.
A, W, T. Nov 2014
Thanks for the welcome on the front door. Straight away I knew we had made the right decision to come here less than 2 weeks after surgery to rest and relax the character of the house, the perfume and loveliness of the garden and the beauty of the property has been so relaxing. The sound of the cicadas has surprised me so much earlier that in Sydney. We’ve loved the chooks the ducks horses and pony and it’s been fun feeding them. Reading the history of the property and about the various animals has been very interesting too. I think that we would like to come again when I can be more active. Thanks for the provisions for such an enjoyable stay. (I loved the guardian Angels) xx
M.M. Nov 2014
AH…. a trip back in time. A place to chill out outside of a busy and rushing city life to a tranquil place. The farm animals are lovely, the 2 brown horses are dominant and want all the food. Thanks to the chooks for your yummy and FRESH farm eggs. The cicadas are great to listen to as well. A comfy 4 poster bed in the main room and a nice hot long shower were great too. Thank you to the owners for making this house a place of living history and for renovating it for younger people so they can appreciate how people loved in times one by. And the little surprises in the garden.
S, G Nov 2014
Very attractive and interesting cottage. We did some long day walks in Morton NP, joining up all the pathways. Fantastic views and varied and beautiful paths. Good Chinese food, delicious pizza! We also visited Fitzroy Falls and walked along the eastern edge – yet more wonderful views. The reserves and parks are fabulous – almost alien, to my English eyes and full of mystery. The farmed countryside here is also very attractive indeed and similar to parts of England – but emptier of people.
K,M,K,T,A. Nov 2014
Another good holiday – the rain no problem. Once again the chickens were kind to us. Sienna is starting to consider this place her second home. Thanks again for the hutch and we trust we will return in the not too distant future.
J &H. Dec 2014
Great cottage, Location, animals, fresh eggs and atmosphere. Very relaxing few days. We’ll be back.

A fantastic experience for all of us! We had very good weather half the time we were here and enjoyed fully those sunshine days. However it was great that we could enjoy the warm fire place when it was raining and cold. I think we ate enough eggs to last us a month. Thank you Julie and Jason. We will definitely return again next time!
J,L,Z,Z, and Einstein the dog! Christmas 2014
Refreshing and relaxing stay. Great to indulge on farm fresh eggs, chat to horse, ponies, alpacas and other animals and take us in the great views. Beautifully and thoughtfully set up. We also learnt about the local history. Back now to the big smoke!
R R,K,S New Yrs 2015
Comfy beds, good BBQ, friendly farm animals. We have all enjoyed staying at Morvern Valley Guest House having someone to feed our food scraps to. The hens and ducks – it has been wonderful. Yummy Eggs! We have loved looking around the quaint town of Bundanoon and Morton National Park. We went on a few walks – echo point, mount Carnarvon, and bonnie view, all breathtaking views. The Fairy Bower Falls was a different walk spectacular forest and waterfall. We even saw a snake on our walk! In the evening we toasted marshmallows, we made smalls (toasted marshmallows between chocolate biscuits) one evening we went to Glow Worm Glen How amazing is that. We left before dark, so we could enjoy the walk down and see the first glow worm of the night and just sat and watched the show till very late.

A delightful homestead property with many historic memorabilia. A real insight into life before the rat race. The boys loved the farmyard experience with regular trips to check up on the hen’s performance statistics. Never eaten so many baked, boiled, fried, scrambled eggs and omelettes! Must come again! Thank you

Thank you for a true country experience. The kids loved interacting with the animals and adventures down to ‘Fairyland’

The romance of a simpler life provided a much needed respite – the peaceful surrounds demanded a connection with the beauty of space – loved the sight and the sound of the little creek – the gentle demands of the animals – the warmth of the cottage – we must come back.

We booked the 3 cottages – what a great time we had here with my sister, brother in law children and my grandchildren. It is a holiday we will always remember. Such a different experience for all of us. The grandchildren were rapt in the animal life. P.S. My granddaughter just said “Nanna can we please stay another night”.

We had a wonderful time! The animals were a definite hit! Thank you for your hospitality and friendliness. We were definitely transported back in time by your quaint cottage. My girls are going to miss Fudge and all the lovely country atmosphere. Thanks Julie and Jason.

We loved the animals – they were very gentle, especially Fudge! We enjoyed patting, grooming and feeding him. The tyre swing was also really fun!! Being in the country was great! The cottage was really cute and was a great home for our three nights here. We collected 2 eggs from the chickens and they were very tasty!!!!

We came for the rest and to celebrate K’s birthday. The rest was the best, and we enjoyed every day. My mum would be so proud of me using the Early Kooka. I enjoyed feeding the chooks & collecting the eggs. Do I have to go home? I especially enjoyed the company of my husband and my dear friends S & D. They always complete the journey.

It’s all true! The cottage is comfortable and we felt very welcome. It was a thrill to see the baby gosling hatch, and we will never forget the brave gander in shining armour!!! We will be back and will stay for longer next time. We really did feel at home. Thank you to the Peacock family and thank you chooks for the yummy eggs!!!
