Wobbly, wet and super cute – our best year ever at Morvern Valley with 4 tiny pedigree Suffolk lambs all born within 3 days! After returning from a day up in Sydney, Jason the farmer, went down to check on all the animals and what a surprise… first he sees one new little lamb drinking strongly from it’s mum ‘Baa Baa’, then turns around to look at the others – and sees yet another little lambie with its mum ‘Baabara’. Then came yet another surprise!
He looked over and ‘Barbie’ was delivering hers – OMG! All the lucky guests were thrilled too! We popped the ewes all under the stable in a side pen (very easy you just pick up the lamb which smell delicious – a lovely ‘puppy’ smell and mum follows along happily), so foxes couldn’t come and ruin our luck, and the mums and lamb could be safe and warm out of the weather. 3 days later another little girl was born. So we have 4 little lambs – 3 girls and 1 very muscley well-conformed boy – perfect!
They noisily bleat, jump high in the air, play chase and head butt. The names are Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme – not that they will ever end up in a pot that’s for sure, all our animals at Morvern Valley have an important job to do – meeting and greeting our farm guests.
