GREAT NEWS!!! Free TRACTOR RIDES and Free ‘Up Close and Personal’ grooming, cuddling, and feeding sessions with Fudge the mini horse. All activities back in FULL SWING…
On arrival to your cottage, call Jason’s number (on the door frame of each cottage), (in the information book), and also (in your confirmation email). Otherwise we leave guests to their own privacy as indeed many come for a romantic stay.
He will organise this private exclusive to your family experience at a time convenient to you (we don’t offer them on the morning of departure). Watch your children’s faces ‘light up’ with these true farm moments. Jason can also give you a lesson on firelighting if your have not had experience before! Jason is the farmer and the one who will help you during your stay for anything you may require – we are eager to help and live closeby.
Here is a photo of puppy Buddy our St Bernard asleep in the Tractor ‘Big Red’, he’s much bigger now of course – btw- He’d like to meet you too. If you ask Jason he’ll happily bring him down to especially meet you from where he lives at our own property.

The creek that crosses Morvern Valley is Coal Creek, and it tumbles delightfully over Erith Coal Mine Falls just next door in The Morton National Park.
The bushwalk is only about 45 minutes and is very interesting – you can peer into the mines and read the history!
Walking just a few meters more takes you down to the base of the fall and you can swim in the crisp clean pool found here, take a picnic – there is a great area to sit, you can skip stones and make a whole day in this quiet very beautiful place.
A Family of Geese arrives

Sebastopol geese are some of the most remarkable looking birds in the farmyard. They look like snow ballerinas – reminiscent of something from ‘Swan Lake’.
Once you’ve seen a Sebastopol you won’t soon forget its beautiful feathering. The gentle curls predominate the look of the Sebastopol which has its origins in Russia. They are quite difficult to get, we were lucky to find some white and splash geese in Victoria so eagerly brought them to the farm. We selected a handsome White Gander – he’s curly but with a smooth chest, and a curly chested white and curly splash girls. This is an ideal breeding set to ‘keep the curl’ in any goslings.

These are 3 of our girls – amazing aren’t they!
Sebastopols are a small goose and can be raised for meat or eggs, but the Sebastopol is mostly kept as an ornamental breed. The feathers are snowy white, their beaks and feet orange, their eyes a bright blue. We will be breeding them, and showing them in the upcoming years.
It’s the way their feathers grow that make Sebastopols so romantic and distinct. Their feathers have flexible, soft quill allowing them to grow out in curls and waves. They are suggested as the ideal goose for a family with children – so just perfect for Morvern Valley with the many families who visit. Sebastopols are a bit shy and the friendliest of all geese. They can still be effective alarm animals because they will still honk when anything unusual happens if suddenly a dog or fox appears. Between their striking feathering and sweet personalities, Sebastopols make some of the most approachable and easy-to-keep geese.
Gypsy Jewel – our magnificent Gypsy Cob

Gorgeous Jewel is now 7 years old, such a sweet natured girl she even before being broken in used to let Alecia sit on her back often!
Julie’s whippet Billie walks in and around her feet, and Jewel doesn’t mind, in fact she doesn’t even seem to notice.
Gypsy Jewel was a gift to Julie from her Dad who was brought up in Bingara, in New England Region in upper NSW. His dad – Julie’s ‘Pop’ – was known as ‘Brickie’ being a Bricklayer, a Drover, and Race Horse breeder and trainer. Julies dad was one of 10 siblings – families used to be very big back then!!!
Gypsy Jewel is a 100% Gypsy Cob very rare in Australia – just 13.1 hands high – with the gentle nature of a Clydesdale.
The Gypsy Romany peoples of the British Isles developed them to be strong enough to pull the Gypsy Caravan, and nice natured enough to be handled, led, and cared for by the under ten girls and boys – the children of the Romany.
