AXE Thai Restaurant is open for Lunch & Dinner. It is the closest restaurant to Morvern Valley. Amble up our quiet lane in the daytime for lunch, or evening for dinner. They also offer delivery to Morvern Valley! Plenty of options for Vegans and Vegetarians too. Special meals like Soft Shell Crab Pad Thai, Crispy Pork Belly with Red Curry Paste, or Thai BBQ King Prawns or Thai Lamb Chops. Bodega B Restaurant is an Italian restaurant bringing Tuscan flavor to the Highlands for the past 12 years. Owners travel to Italy’s regions annually sourcing the new recipes – using local ingredients in both traditional & innovative ways. Dinners Wed to Sunday & Sunday Lunch. We love their Linguine served with NZ baby Clams, baby Octopus, Prawns, Squid and Mussels in a white wine sauce. You cannot beat the Slow Braised Lamb Shoulder or the Butterflied New York Cut Beef with sage, prosciutto in a creamy mustard sauce. The Bundanoon Club offers The Paddock – Great Steaks and an innovative menu with well-known Chef Anthony Pellegrino. They have Keno, Country Meat Raffles and Bingo nights. Lunch & Dinner 5 days. Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Roasts, Speciality Beef Burgers, Steaks, Prawn Spaghetti. Chicken Parmigiana, Buttermilk Chicken Burgers all beautifully presented. There is a special menu for the kidlets as children are most welcome.
Often there are Open Mic nights, Comedy nights, Trivia nights and dedicated Curry nights and Pasta Nights too. There are inside and outside areas to eat. Its a country club style with a family friendly atmosphere – not fancy schmancy. The food is really Fantastic and Good Value too. Maybe book and try Barefoot Bowling!

Opening hours change but keep an eye out they are well worth visiting and a new business to Bundanoon. Mostly open Mornings & Lunches Wed to Mon. The Goat, The Morty, The Mona Lisa and The Gucci Gang are the names of their vibrant focaccias. Their use of tasty ingredients like fresh Arugula, Hot Honey, Whipped Goats cheese, Balsamic Glase, Mortadella, Whipped Garlic Mascarpone, Prosciutto, Shaved Prima Donna in a myriad of inventive combinations will make your tastebuds sing!
The Three most popular walks for Morvern Valley’s guests are Erith Coal Mine, Glow Worm Glen Twilight adventure and Fairy Bower Falls. Beauchamp Cliffs, Tooths Lookout, Sunrise Point and Bonnie View are awesome lookout points. If you are not a walker you can drive from lookout to lookout. There are picnic tables.
This area of the Morton National Park is called Gambell’s Rest and is located just 500m from Morvern Valley Farm Stay in Bundanoon.
Erith Coal Mine offers an educational and exciting adventure walk. This short, steep walk through woodland, heath and rainforest leads to Erith Coal Mine. Open from the 1860’s to 1915.
You can peer into the entrances to the mines. Look carefully and you will see the old pulleys and the old tracks which would transport the Coal up to to the valley rail head.
Erith Coal Mine Falls tumble into a large pool at its base is the creek that crosses Morvern Valley Farm Stay – ‘Coal Creek’. Plaques explain the history of the mine.
Just another 70 metres further down is delightful – a large pool that Erith Coal Mine falls collect, where you can swim and there is a peaceful and primitive lush rainforest landscape. (90 mins return)
One of the best things to do in Bundanoon is to take a twilight trip any time of year down to Glow Worm Glen.
You can catch the glow worms’ sparkling light show – while minimising impact on some luminescent little locals – by turning off torches when you visit. There are seats in the Glen.
Found only in Australia and New Zealand, in dense rainforests and caves or rocky structures and thrive in wet habitats. During the day they are inconspicuous, but in the darkness they sparkle with blue-green light.
Truly the fairy lights of nature. Look out for possums and friendly wombats in your torchlight as they awake to go about their noctural routine! (60 minutes return)
This walk will take you to the top viewing platform of Fairy Bower Falls and below. Take photos at the lookout known as ‘The Brides Lookout’. The way down is a little steep in areas but well worth the effort. You can feel a type of magic at Fairy Bower. There is a small ferny cave named the fairy grotto at the top of the falls. Look for kangaroos.
Fairy Bower Falls are very beautiful and very idyllic. Once you reach the base of the falls you will be rewarded with a lush rainforest area. Water flows over the cliffs (you can shower under them!) and into the rock pool. This lower area was known to early Bundanoon visitors as ‘The Fossil Beds’. (90 mins return)
Markets are held in Bundanoon undercover on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month (except January).

The Soldiers Memorial Hall often holds recitals of reknowned pianists, singers and The Melting Pot Drama weekends. Live music is often found in The Bundanoon Hotel.
The Rex Theatre holds Movie Nights in the Bundanoon Hall every few weeks on a Saturday night using the original projector from the 1940s. Great fun and lots of tasty treats from the CWA for supper. Meet locals & get involved in the social fun of village life!

Horse riding is just 3 minutes drive from Morvern Valley Farm. Hand led Pony Rides. Horse Riding for experienced riders, and Beginners Classes available at Shibumi Equestrian Centre on Ferndale Rd Bundanoon. Facilities are excellent. Remember: Book well in advance.
